I have had difficulty viewing a number of pictures submitted of muffler mods or some chain grinding illustrations because the original picture diidn't have enough light causing the parts in shadow to disappear. I have found a free photo editor that has received five star reviews from people who understand this stuff far better than I do. You can configure it to manage all your images in your browser. It is not as sophicated as Adobe Photoshop products, but is faster and easier to use. It even has a zoom so you can bring pictures up closer for a better look. I have no interest in the company financially or otherwise and it is free.

An even better one is freely available and is free in the better respect as well (you can get the source code and use it in your own project, or modify it, and/or redistribute it, or just plain use and enjoy it): http://imagemagick.org/

If you want to manipulate images, there's nothing better, and you can even do it without the graphical interface with this one.  I'm sure I've said it a time or three already...
