Help identifying a stihl

Looking for info on this Stihl at an auction company. They always seem to take crappy pics. Looking for another project saw and wondering what thus guy is. Thanks in advance

A later 08s as the tag on the oil tank looks to the glued on type the older ones the model number was cast in the tank.

My late 08s has a chain brake

I have seven 08Ss the oldest with a chain brake is 1979 the next four with brakes are on saws from 1980 up.The other two are early seventies and no chain brakes but they are way cooler with their red paint and darker grey and the old Stihl logos.

That's a fine collection Kash, I now know where to go for advice! I'd like to get some of the attachments, hole diggers, augers etc. I reckon the 08 is an interesting saw

Two of the 08s were brush saws worked good but were heavy.It was super simple to convert to chain saw just remove nylon clutch sprocket and bolt on the oil tank.
