We inherited an old mature maple in our backyard. Canopy looks decent for how old it is, but recently we have noticed a pile of grass falling onto our sidewalk path.
The other day we found a borer larvae of some kind but not sure what is is - anyone able to tell me? They all look so similar to me.
Also, if you can identify what kind of treatment options do we have? It seems minor right now - no major tree health concerns. They seem to have invaded on an old small dead branch we recently pruned for safety.
If we don’t treat will it just continue to get worse and kill the tree?
