I have done a Search but I'm not any wiser, cos some say 13000 and some say 13500,what's correct? :dizzy:
In the Manual's of the 2135T and 2171 the Max RPM is there, but not in the Manual's of 2152 and 2159? Please HELP anybody:help:

For the 2159 it's 13,800. Interestingly enough, on its orange sister, max is 13,500.

I send one e-mail to Jonsered, so I will see if I get any answer from them. And I was also asking why there is no IPL and Workshop Manual on their site.

Max RPMs for the 359 in unmodified condition is 13,500. I would have to say that since mechanically the 2159 is identical to the 359 that the 13,500 max would apply to it also.

Thank's  , and yes it was what I was thinking, as 13800 seems a bit high to me :(

Thank you all for the Help  Now when I know the Max RPM, it's easy to set the carb right :D

Thank's for the Help :) When I tune my saw's, I tune them a bit richer and lower then what is Max RPM from factory ;) This make my feel a bit safer.

Okay...here's the absolute, unquestionable, verified, guaranteed correct answer on the 2159: It depends on which source you consult! :hmm3grin2orange:

All the 2006 sales literature specifies 13,800. This includes both the printed literature and the specs on the website.

However, a 2003 shop manual specifies 13,500.

Is it possible that there has been a change in the ignition module since 2003?

OK, thank you for clarifying that :dizzy: , but I hope I get some answer from Jonsered also, cos I did send them one e-mail. I would think that the 13800 is for 2156/357xp cos it's seem a bit high for the 2159/359

2159/359

I thought the 2159/359 are the same saw but maybe not. I downloaded a workshop manual for the 357xp/359 and the max rpms vary between E-tech and non E-tech. The non E-tech indicates max rpm=13,500. There is a separate section for adjusting the EPA carb and I assume that means E-tech. It specs max rpms @ 13,000. Look under Sticky Reference Links and you'll probably find the same manual. My 359 "d-eteched" cuts better a good bit under max rpms. I would think that more RPM=more cutting speed? I've heard that the 2159 has a bit more power than the 359 and some say it's because it has a compensating carb and the 359 doesn't.

I've always wondered why, at least here in the States, the 2159 is rated at 4.1 hp with a max RPM of 13,800, and the 359 is rated at 3.9 hp with a max of 13,500. I've always assumed it had something to do with ignition modules, but I'm not basing that assumption on an IPL, either. I know there has been some talk about that 0.2 difference in hp here on AS, but I'm not sure I ever heard anything definitive on why it is.

Definitely let us know what you hear from Jonsered, though!

Yes the 2159/359, 2156/357xp, 2152/353 and 2147/346xp are the same saw's, but as you say, the 2159 has a compensating carb, but the new 359 has that also, at least over here.

the compensating carb is totally useless on huskies since the filter never gets that dirty
