The best I can remember the 2100 had a manual oiler button to overide the auto. This saw does not. I beleive the 298 was the same saw but without the man. overide. It's been about 8-10 since I've worked on either. I can tell you that I can't recall the black grip though??????????????? :dizzy:

Justsaws is correct! The piston has what I call scoring. If you catch it in time a piston assy. will fix. It's basically the aluminum piton melting and tranfering to the Molly Chrome cylinder wall. This means you can use some lite grit sand paper (400-500) and sand the aluminum off the chrome and not damage the cylinder. If not caught in time it will eventually damage the cylinder (RIP).:D ;)

I am going to stick with my origional assessment, BASTARD.... I have one sort of like it, I made it out of a 285CD, a 2100CD, a 2101XP, and a thin ring piston out of an "I don't know". I could see the rivet holes where the tag was missing. Just call it a 2100 and build a race saw out of it:biggrinbounce2: ..

Maybe a 180CD or 280CD/S but definatly a 77 cc model. The 285CD, 1100CD, 2100CD, and 2101XP had magnesium handles and the three 99cc models had manual and auto oilers.
Not the 1100CD, and probably not the 185 CD either.
