Hello, I am gathering information to sell my father-in-laws wood stove. Central boiler 6048 it is 6 years old. We lost him in Jan and my mother in law fell twice last winter trying to load the stove while he was sick. He took meticulous care of the stove and its in great shape, we just want to get a gas stove so my mother in law doesn't get injured trying to deal with the stove. She's a little pissed about it because my FIL loved cutting firewood and dealing with the wood stove. Im just trying to figure out an honest price for my MIL. She has already fallen victim to some D-bags and sold off things for far less than they are worth.

I don’t want to sound like a donny downer but the price is probably going to be whatever you can get for it. State and local laws governing outdoor boilers have changed. Around here, I don’t think anyone could legally install that particular boiler. Not sure how things are in your state but if it is like New England, finding a potential buyer may prove difficult. You could try to contact the company that originally sold/installed the boiler and ask them about selling a used one in your area. They may have info regarding price and potential buyers. You might be better off just mothballing it and keeping it with the house. Good luck.

Schleppy, I'm betting that Wisconsin fellas are like me and maybe don't follow all the rules. There is a market for everything, somebody will know somebody who can make use of it even if it's just heating a shop or outbuilding in the bush. As for price, like everything I would start high and take some offers. If you are wanting to just sell it then a local decent auction place that takes consignments might be the best way to go. Then there is no guy showing back up at your door saying that it's leaking or he can't install it whatever. Auction guys are usually guys who makes stuff work. (like me). I bought mine used but I feel that I really lucked out and got a good one.
