I have looked and looked and can't find what I need. So I am hoping someone here has a parts saw, a Husqvarna 480CD. The jug and piston have to be good. The rest doesn't matter. If anybody has one, please let me know. Thanks.
If it is correct that 77 fits I have several. I have some cylinders/pistons that is mixed in a box I bought, If you can't get from US or closer, I can ship you the 77 or parts.
At Mikes site the saws match cylinder bore and piston stroke.
However, I do not no if the cylinder has the same mount, and external size.
This will proberbly one of the experts answer.
I will have a look in the box tomorrow, so if you could tell what external size it has I will try and help.

Ps. I forgot, the carb. mounting could be different to.
Hi Mange. Thanks for your help. I am being told that nothing interchanges with the 480. I thought if I could match up the piston size to bore, stroke, and others such as wrist pin width and diameter, then I should be able to find at the very least a piston. I don't necessarily need a jug because I think I can save the one I have but I would like to have one just in case. Maybe some one will come through for me. I am trying to fix my friends saw and he is on my butt bad about finding parts. lol Thanks
The distance from wrist pin centre to top and bottom of piston is critical, also shape and width of skirt may be a concern for port coverage and crank clearance.
Just a thought,for what it,s worth.Wrist pin center,to piston face,this would change comp.,and port timing.Ring placement,in relation to piston face,could,in some cases,snag a ring.Also placement of the pins,if equipted,in relationship to ports. I personaly never mixed and matched,on a 2 cycle,have,however put Lincoln 430 pistons,in a Dodge slant 6[ stock car ].Most of engine mods,come from backyard tinkerers.Good luck.
I know that the 180s will fit the crankcase and the piston is the same.
What I don't know is if the cooling fens have the same sice, this is not a big problem, The fens can be shaped to fit the cover.
It is the total hight off the cylinder is a little worrie, this is sometimes canged within models to.
I will have a look in the box.
Hi...the 480 and the model 77 use the same cylinder, piston, and rings. A simple check of the part numbers for each model will confirm this. I have interchanged them many times.
Since you have been offered what you need from a 77, go for it.

I have ben asking Husqvarna several times (diferent People) about the different cylinders for each model, A B D F etc.
They have all different shape and size, and all will not interact.
No good responce.
As I can best understand, it is a salestrick, so you will have to by a new at the dealer.
It's not like everyone has 5 different 444sg laying around to take parts from.
Any Ideas?
Ps gr8mac, this cylinder and piston is still on the saw and is correct
