They will settle before going to trial.
Too bad the kid got messed up, but I dunno if camping under a large dead tree on a windy day is a good plan.

People are so sue happy nowadays It is ridiculous. Like if someone breaks into your house and you shoot them you can get prosecuted over it. Or if someone gets hurt on your property due to their negligence it can still land on you. Stupid if you ask me. Those people couldnt see that the dead tree was an obvious hazard? Some people do stupid things just to get money and it makes me sick.

I hope the gov doesnt settle, and these people dont get a ####ing dime. Its the one time I would agree with the fed spending a million dollars to do so.

Even though these people are suing for 1.5 or whatever ridiculous amount it is....

The attorney states that the tree was clearly dead - had been for years - and was within eight feet of the fire ring.......It was an obvious hazard.

Must not have been that obvious or the campers would have noticed it.

It's really sad the boy was injured but what other things might the parents not notice?

Do not get me wrong, I feel sorry for the boy. The accident was due to the parents negligence for not being aware of their surroundings.

So what's next? They get mauled by a bear, and sue the gov for allowing bears to roam around? This country is going to hell in a hand basket.
