I've just got a little Rayco self propelled RG 20. It's good for getting into tight places and doing small to medium stumps. I usually sub out larger stump jobs. Mine is good for doing most of the stumps on the jobs I do but any really big tree I get or jobs with lots of stumps I sub. Especially when I am busy. I've only got around $500 into this machine and I made that back on the first job I did with it. Really it's something to mostly keep my groundy busy. A 252 is what I would really like to have but there are other things I am more interested in purchasing and doing first.
I have had good luck with my local Vermeer dealer. The have even worked on my old Bandit chipper. If I was really into doing stumps I would want a 40 HP machine or better. To tell the truth I make much better money when I am making stumps, not grinding them.
Gotter fixed anyway. I got three small removals tomorrow where I have to grind stumps. What a difference a new belt makes!
