Thankfully we don't cut much beech ever. And sweet gum isnt in our woods. What's your good poplar bringing 700 a thousand?

that be the max we could get. our prices seem to be around 10-15% lower here but logs can have more blems. such as heart size makes no difference in poplar here.
beech is always part of improving the stand here.........years ago they left it so it took over in spots. good matt logs though.
i love sweet gum, fast loads of saw logs and they always want it.

I hear sweet gum is similar to poplar to cut. Hell poplar with a big diameter and 9 inches of white all around the green heart will make veneer.

it is soft but will pull badly if mismatched.
