Now ya gotta try what I thought would be a good idea. Get a muffler off a small motorcycle and weld it into the stock muffler flange for a stealth splitter. Might need to weld a washer into the tail pipe to maintain the back pressure of the stock muffler.

Yes Gary, It does blow towards it. We were a little concerned about it but it doesnt seem to get hot at all. Im gonna get a muffler that blows straight back anyway to remove any doubt.

Think it would be a good idea, hyd fluid gets hot anyway and it would
just and to the heat.

I dont think you need lights on splitter here in Ohio. Ive never looked it up but I have been by lots of police pulling splitters with no lights and havent had a prob.

If I only had flood lights on mine, wow I could be splitting
when its 88 instead of 101 degrees of course those pesky
rattle snakes there would have to be some kinda lights:laugh:

Nice creation!!

You might consider....
The filter goes on the return side, not the supply side.
There is a reason for this.

So, the filter should be between the valve and tank instead of between the tank and pump? This is my first go around with one of these. I was just assuming that you would want to filter the oil coming out of the tank before it got to any of the working parts.

All of the steel came from our shop-yard at work. The main beam is a 7"X7"X3/8 structural column. Do you have any pics of yours Bowtie?

Yes, i just have to find them, I put them all on a thumb drive, and will have to figure out how to retrieve them. Will post back soon...

I imagine if you put a SMV ( Slow Moving Vehicle sign on the back ( the orange triangular sign on farm machinery)
its better than nothing

In Kansas you dont have to tag or light a logsplitter of the normal size. But LOL at the Sloe Moving Vehicle sign...I drag mine down the interstate at close to 80mph.
