I work for a local government in N.J. and had loaned my bucket truck to some guys from maintenance repair only to discover that they had drilled holes in the bucket to drain the rain water because they had forgotten to replace the bucket cover !!! Does this compromise the bucket in any way ? i'd appreciate your input ! ps. the two holes are obout 3/8ths in diameter.

whether or not it compromises the bucket isnt the issue. the issue is you lent equipment out that wasnt returned in the same condition. the guy needs to pay for the repair. now the next time somone asks you to borrow equipment....

holes in bucket

Thanx John464, I agree that when a piece of equipment is borrowed it should be returned in the same condition but in my case i can't deny them the use of the bucket truck ! My main concern is wheather the holes will make the bucket dielectrically or structurally unsafe to use . And if so WHY ? and that they will not make the same mistake again . EVER!!!

I have heard of this happening before and the way I understand it is (Yes) the bucket has been compromised as far as electricity is concerned. I would be mad but only at myself. You don't loan this type of equipment . I know you were probably being a nice fellow but nice can get you or someone else dead. You cant be a neighbor like you could 40 years ago, people don't care or understand now-days. Good luck with the bucket.
