I never liked any of the pole pruners on the market so I made my own.
I used a top rail for a cyclone fence for the pole and mounted a Corona razor saw on the end.
Those razor saws are awesome, they cut just about as fast as a powered saw.
The pole is 10 foot and I can add an extension if needed. It works great.

Good idea. I believe I'd find that saw getting heavy when working at an angle below about 80°. Once I dip below 70° even with my fiberglass pole, I have to struggle to regain leverage once the cut is complete if I have a second, or third extension on my saw head.

I agree, the triple cut head, in my case a Marvin, is a smooth and fast cutting head, and much lighter than a power pole saw head.

I looked at one at Brookshire Brothers a few weeks ago. Looked good, just the pruner without the saw.
I do need one for the little stuff where the saw is useless. But for sawing bigger limbs, the razor saw is great.
I like the one I made because it's clean and doesn't hang up. I don't like working overhead, makes my neck hurt.
