The only reason I was even selling these saws was I'm sick of the crap that goes on in any collecting hobby (also collect other vintage items), the liars, the cheaters, the posers and the know-it-alls. I really don't have time or the inclination in dealing with these types or to try to weed them out from the majority of good folks. I've deleted social media and may even cancel internet. I'm inclined to only deal with people face to face these days. It's just not the people who don't know if they are a man or woman, but those that don't have morals, ethics, or have the ability to tell the truth. I don't accept gray ethical areas that a feminized male society has seemed to have embraced. After 90 days they will be all boxed up and stored in my attic, I'm not going through this 60 times with 60 people or even one more time with one person.
know what you mean. I tried to sell two items recently on FB marketplace. First two people said they would buy but kept coming up with excuses why they couldn't meet for the purchase. I do hope things work out for you.

I had a gentleman from Canada that agreed to buy all 60 of my Homelite chainsaws. I gave him 30 days to arrange shipping or have them picked up, its been nearly 40 days now and I haven't heard from him in over 2 weeks. He made a substantial deposit and now I am at a loss as how to proceed. I'm going to wait another week before I start selling any complete saws, but I have already listed some parts here.

Refund his deposit and cut ties. Sell your saws to people who want to buy them.

Do you have his/her name and a physical mailing address?

I've had several buyers agree to buy then call back and tell me their wives said no, I've had others that agreed to a price and came over short of money and tried to renegotiate, a few that wanted me to drive an hour or more to meet them. A bunch that offered half or less my asking price and a ton of sellers that sold defective items, not as described, and outright fraud. I know the good guys outnumber the bad guys 10 to one, but the slugs just seem to pop up more than their numbers should indicate.

Still waiting on a reply from the buyer. I decided to restore the Homelite 750, All two part epoxy primer, paint, and clear coat. If he does show up the price just went up

Wrong... The seller already said they agreed to a non refundable deposit. Do you know what non refundable means? Besides, he can't get through to or get a response from the guy. Where is he going to refund it to? Maybe the guy died and in that case he don't have a use for the refund..

Correct, I have a PO box, email address, and phone number for the guy, no response from email or phone and I am not sending back a "non refundable deposit" to a Canadian PO box.

I would not send back a refund without any contact period. That is paramount. The issue I am not sure some understand here is the sheer amount of the buyers offer. The buyer was willing to pay a VERY good price for the saws so in my opinion it is best to keep trying to contact them and work with them.

UPDATE: Well almost 90 days since I got the deposit the guy emails me and says he is going through a divorce, He can't get the saws and even if I would send the money back it would go to his wife, he said keep it and apologized for not getting back to me. I feel for him, but at least his wife won't get more of his money or stuff
