Thanks again everyone for all the help in my previous post last night on this saw....

Here's my other dillema.... The manual oil pump seems to be coming and going. It would pump a little oil, and then after that it just seemed to be blowing bubbles where it comes out at the chain end.

I pulled the pump shaft with parts including the spring out, and there was two pieces in there that had little O rings on them. One O ring on each little piece.

They were hardened, so I went to the Auto Parts store, and got 2 new O rings and put them on. No Change, although at first, I thought it was going to fix it.

The top little piece with an O ring seems to be the one that is supposed to be sucking oil from the reservoir in place so that when the plunger is pressed in, there is a supply of oil on hand for it to push on through.

The top O ring just didn't seem to be doing it's job, like it needed to be thicker or something, so I added another O ring above that one in the top piece to double O ring it.

I haven't gotten a chance to really give it a good test, but so far what testing I did seems to have taken care of the problem for the most part, but not sure, it might not be quite as much oil it is pulling than that of which it should be getting.

Tomorrow is the big test for it, but I'm wondering why I had to double O ring it in the first place. Since these came from an auto parts store, is the original O rings maybe a little fatter or something possibly? These are the same size as what was in it, although I can't say that they are original either.
Thanks again,

Ive redone a few of mine and used regular O rings although some saws do use metric O rings. Homelites should take standard ones.

The problem you describe is either...

Cloged oil lines/passages.

Clogged check ball.

Or a cracked oil pickup line.

Ive never had the oilers apart on my EZ's but their probably similar in function to the other homeys Ive fixed.

Thanks!

Thanks again for the good information. I didn't get to try it out today because of weather earlier on, and other things this evening. Hoping to get to try it out Tuesday and see what happens.
Thanks again, and if it doesn't work out the way I've got it now, I'll check those things you mentioned.
