Ether in a saw is a recipe for diaster. Check the compression. If it is low then that is a problem

Your choke may not be closing all the way.
Keep ether, go-juice as I call it, out of your saws. You'll fry the engine.
Better to squirt a little fuel mix down the carb throat.
