I just picked one of these up from a neighbor. It was his brothers and it ran last year. Unfortunately, the darn recoil spring broke on the first pull. My neighbor's brother used to use it in his landscaping/tree business somewhere in Kansas(I think). My neighbor told me that he used to haul this sucker up in the tree with him!

Any suggestions on where to get parts? Also, what do saws like this go for? I sure as hell know I ain't gonna use it for limbing! Thanks.

It may be a blessing the thing broke.
I'm teasing, but only a little bit.
This saw will not stop if problems occur. As nice as this sounds the short list of "other things that must give" starts with you. I am scared of these specifically and will never touch one again.

Imagine a real big model 17

Should have been made by Ford. 5.8 cu inches with gear reduction. There was a gentleman looking for a 700 series saw, if I was him I'd have been sniffing your butt by now.

How you're supposed to use it and press the manual chain oiler is beyond me. If no board mods can help you with parts I'll put out fliers for ya.

Nah, get it running and keep it around for pesky neighbors that like to borrow stuff and never bring it back. I keep an old homie 66 around if anyone comes to borrow a saw, I tell them sure take that one, have had no takers yet. ;)

You hold the throttle with your pointer finger, and the oiler is pushed with your thumb at the same time. in hindsight, it was a poor place to put an oiler button, but at least its not way the heck out of your hands reach.

I've ordered parts from NPA (http://www.herrmfg.com/) before. They don't have a secure online ordering system, so I'd recommend calling in the order. Other thing is the spring is only $4.18, but they indicate prices are only good with a $25.00 minimum order. No big deal as I bet you can find some other goodies. I've never ran a Wiz before, but I bet its a hand full. I'm sure you'll have fun with it.
