I run into some issues with a still 460 that I was building and have some very large redwood I need to slab up and I have a opportunity buy either either one of the above saws for 325 in both run and come with 36 inch Bars I’m wondering what are People opinions on what would be a better saw for milling in for mild porting

Parts availability is going to be a problem with both. I might pick the Homelite since the 056 has ignition issues and parts to fix that are NLA.

I'd go with the 056, those things are pretty torquey and they are pretty good machines once they're ported. Honestly, I'd go with a Husky 2100 if you can get one, I use one on my mill and it makes a new 395 seem about as powerful as a Farm Boss. I know a guy up by Folsom who has a few he'd cut loose, but that's probably a bit too far of a drive for you.
The xl925 is one heck of a saw if you are man enough to start it. Mine never gets used any more as my 372 has pretty much replaced it but the xl925 certainly has more grunt. I have a 056 on the shelf but it just dosn't fit me as well as the Husqvarna or the old homelite. I didn't realize either of those saws are worth $325.
