Hello, I am rebuilding to running condition a Homelite XL123. The carburator should be Walbro SDC, the question is which one. The current listing from Walbro is SDC-31. My saw has a SDC-25. Does anyone know if the SDC-25 was ever used in that model, maybe then replaced by the SDC-31, or is the SDC-25 just the wrong carb?

thanks

john

XL 123 Carburetor:

Hello John L. According to Mike's site the saw used a Tillotso HS 132A. The XL 122 used a Walbro SDC. If you want check out the site:< http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.nsf?Opendatabase >. Afraid I can't tell you any more. Maybe some one here will have IPL's that will show or list what different carbs were used on that saw. Take care. Lewis.

The 2004 Walbro Parts & Service Manual does say use SDC 31. I just looked at a old Homelite paper IPL and it calls for a SDC 32.

OK thanks for the replies. Anyone know if the SDC-25 was ever specified for use on this saw? They look identical on the outside, and I believe the ventury is the same diameter. I'll probably opt for the SDC-31, just trying to save a few dollars.

According to my XL 123 parts list it lists the SDC-32 carb. The SDC-31 carb is the one called out for the VI 123 saw. Not sure what the difference between the two are. Both carbs list a 67197 repair kit.

Walbro says the sdc-25 went on xl113/114/112, the sdc-31 went on the xl123, and
the sdc-32.
also shows sdc-21 going on xl122/123/113/114
Homelite shows just the sdc-32 on the xl123

I can access a copy through my homelite distributer and might be able to
send it to you, but I do not know how it would work out, as it has a
magnifyfeature and all. e-mail me direct and I can try. [email protected]

Thanks for your e-mail address Fish, you should be receiving some very interesting reading regarding donkeys, very soon.

Your email address should be available on google soon now, Fish.

What carb?

I wouldn't worry about it,if it runs ok.I have mixed and matched parts from different Walbro and Tillotson carbs to fit different applications. It has always worked for me.

Thanks for the information. I think I will try running the SDC-25 since it was offered on saws of the same displacement.
