I plan on building a splitter this winter. And I want to use as much of materials as I have on hand. My questin is I have a section of 5"x 7" square tubing with 3/16" side wall. If I weld this together to form a 10"x 7" beam will this be strong enough for my main beam? I have a cylinder that has a 40" stroke as I want to be able to split 3' long logs. Please advise.
