Thanks for posting those really nice photos. I love seeing draft horses at work - magnificent animals.

Thanks for posting. :msp_thumbup:

Now, bring in the elephants to deck the logs!;)

No sooner said than done...

I took these photos back in 2001 when I was working with the rangers in a Burmese national park. Unfortunately we came upon the logging site when they were done for the day so I didn't get skidding action with the big logs. The photo with the elephant crossing the stream shows one loaded with timbers milled onsite as the logs are too large to drag out of the forest. Thought you might enjoy seeing some of the rigging on the elephants.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but thought you'd find these pics complementary to the horse logging photos.

It's all about working with an animal. Doesn't matter how big the #### is out the back.

Oh yeah. It's all about putting them in the deck.

Or maybe standing back while your team is in a nasty hole getting the log out when you ask them. Remote control. Wireless. Then they stop when you say whoa. Then it goes to the deck.

Machiunes have a place in the brush. So does animal power.

Just don't mix them up. People do that.
