Do any of the chainsaw Mfg's have port configurations similar to motorcycle or snowmobile engines. Do any have case reed induction. Dual transfers on both sides. Bridged exhaust port or single exhaust port with two subports. Rear boost port. Is there any maker thats close. Thanks

That normally requires someone to do the work to a cylinder after the company makes it. not many stock saw manufacturers would want to have that much performance in a saw, besides, the EPA wouldnt like it very much.

Do you know of anyone who has tried to put and older Air cooled 125cc bike cylinder on a 880, 3120 or similar. Many of those cylinders have reed blocks also. Was it worth the effort? What chainsaw cylinder mfg today has porting similar to the high performance two strokes. I was reading some advertisement that Dolmar or Makita may have more ports than Stihl or Husquvarna anyone have one apart to verify the ports. Where is the best place to find info such as bore stroke and connecting rod length for chainsaws? Thanks

For the most part, ther ports are pretty much similar from brand to brand. I dont know about putting a 125CC bike cylinder on an 088 or 3120, but I think its possible with a little creativity and some tools. But why put a 125CC bike cylinder on a saw that's got 120CCs to start with.

pioneer 4 cube and up were reed valve. the 655 had a bost port.nothing modern made to what your looking for. most new saws are piston ported. most are going to 4 port transfers.

hope this helps

Which new saws are going to have 4 port transfers? Is the Pioneer saw still made, I'm not familar with those? The reason for the trouble would simply be horse power.
