how bout a 1000cc saw? washington hotsaw guys?

i`ve got this yamaha r1 engine kicking around and was thinking about making a hot saw out of it? i`m moving back to washington and was wondering if theres any guys with experience on the wet side of the state? although I dont mind driving to oregon etc if need be.

I would think the problem of that motor would be that I dont think you could pick it up to cut anything. It sure would be fun.

I can pick it up now with no handles albeit awkward, dont know how much weight i`ll add with a bar/chain everything else though.

If you think it's hard getting to a cart track... try gettin' a log set up to cut all the time. Unless you have the resources for timber, it will be a PITA... plus if ya got close neighbors, they won't like it either.

Gotta weigh all your options... a lot goes into fabricating a saw like that. Remember the weight of the bar and chain you run will add to the overall deal too. Makin' it more awkward than it is now.

You will be out classed. Its too big for the open class (single cyl/ pull start) and too small for the unlimited class (v-8's). It can be done though if you just wanted to build a crazy saw and impress your friends in the back yard.

slap a turbo and nitrous on it and kick some V-8 butt with it, maybe?
