central Pa,
I was reeding a thread about putting a drinking straw around a 7/32 file to keep it clean when not in use. This works well for keeping them clean, but it also lets them fall out of the file holder I use. However the straw should help keep the files from rusting untill someone finds them.

How do you keep it in?

Thank goodness Hells Kitchen closed up or this would be a top posting thread for sure.

I saw this, and thought the dirty thoughts too. were it me, I'd think a file in the straw, would be easy to keep in the straw, buy simply sealing one end off, and using one that in my case, fits in an ammo box, which isnt too long, and holds things in place anyway.

I use the straw trick on my files too, but also keep them in a welding rod box. I put a couple silica gel packs in the bottom of the welding rod/file box, and whenever I or my g/f get new shoes(often), I replace the silica gel packs.

I use clear plastic tubing with an 1/8inside diameter for my files. If you really wanted to be cool ,you would have different color tubing for different files.

Just my two cents but if your file gets rusty or worn or even lost get a new one for 2 bucks cdn.just throw it in the truck.

"How do you keep it in?" followed by "Protection advice." What is this place coming to?
