RB did you ever get it figured out? I have an 046 that if the temp is below about 35 degree's doesnt want to start, after that it will start just fine, I still have to rebuild the carb (the air filter is new) and I have put a new impulse line, fuel line and fuel filter on it, I also replaced the fuel tank vent. The thing is just stubborn about starting when its cold temps.rb_in_va said:I have a question I've been meaning to ask for some time. sawdust said:Thanks Mike. Turns out I was flooding the saw because I couldn't hear it pop with my ear plugs in. The 044 sound is lower pitched than my 026 & 034. Just change my starting procedure for this saw and its fine. What a simple fix! This saw sounds good, can't wait to cut with it.
