Just wanted to know how every one is doing.I have had 2 job since beginning of november.Usually busy to thanksgiving.Im assuming has to do with nov midterm elections.

Quite a few people have called lately to "finally remove the big tree in the yard". After all the wind and rain the past 4 days, people are starting to realize how ominous some of these trees can be. Right now, I've got steady weekend work through December and considering the holidays and a hunting trip, maybe actually into January.

Just nailed down a good sized township job that will certainly help me float through the winter. Also lined up some good filler work that can be done anytime this winter and going to look at another big job tomorrow. Things are looking steady for the winter but I will have my eyes wide open for other stuff. No such thing as too much tree work......

I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel. Have a lot of nice estimates out, but nothing big locked up. Picked up a nice stop and shop to plow though...

Very busy here. Alot of removals I quoted in the summer are coming in now. Big removals pruning etc. Working 7 days a week through the end of Nov. Gotta make hay while the sun is shining I guess.... Mike

Dead here.

Everyone seems to want it done for nothing around here. They're getting estimates from everyone in the yellow pages.

Lot's of estimates out but no work.Works for me though.Getting a lot of stuff done around the house and moved down south.

Been a little slow last couple of weeks but thats ok because I have a good cold that I am just comming out of. The winter looks ok, some oak pruning to do and a few romovals for freinds to catch up on but it has slowed down.

Dead here unfortunately. Looked at a good one yesterday though, right in my towns historic district.. insane visability! couple doors down from post office. I want that one, maybe it'll give a little jump start..

More firewood today.. at least I got the winter savings locked down pretty much, so I cant complain!

Oh, your not supposed to do it for free? I was about to start a thread about that myself today but I guess we all know anyway and it would be like I was crying.
Definatley wish I had more split wood to sell and though I do have work to do I don't wanna do it for what they want to do it for.

bad in wny

slow year around here. Referral work has gotten us through. If not for that, forget it. Too many guys out of work, working as tree guys out of pickup trucks. Not insured, draggin brush to the curb, killin the legit firms. Hoping for a mild winter, but not optimistic at all. Have to pick up a used bucket as ours needs 15k to repair problems with it. Hoping for some ICE !

had a few calls.

they were nice enough to offer the job if i would do it for the firewood!

I explained if they knew of an insurance company, gas station, and parts store, grocery store, home improvement warehouse, and tax collector that would do accept unseasoned firewood as payment,I'd rush right over.

I have piles of seasoned wood and I'm getting calls. It's fun telling them I'm not selling any this year.I love to hear them beg !

Revenge is mine ,LOL.

every yahoo with a HD card is doing tree work it seems.seen a few go bad while I was driving by.they got what they paid for.

Lost a couple to low bidders.customers not happy now.BOO HOO!

Gonna place an ad to hire a couple more guy's. Kinda tough when California is spending 40 million a day to the un-employed. Seems some would rather not work. Gotta start a $70,000 job on Monday with a 5-6 man crew.
Jeff :)

I have been pretty steady for a long while now. I'm set up for the next couple weekends but missing this weekend for deer hunting.:chainsaw: All in all it has been a good year but I'm hoping for some ice this winter.

Hey Jeff, how long does it take to do a $70,000 job with 5-6 guys? Gimme a plane ticket i'll come help.

Well, you do understand that the five guys are from a bigger crew, right: Even if I went $50 a man hour, that is $2000 a day. So unless I don't add a crew member or take one away, the end justifies the means. My goal is 25 day's. I might change the crew size at times, but I have been doing this along time. If you want a job, go to our web-site.
Jeff
BTW, Not paying for a plane ticket! I hate planes!

Up and down here, started getting slow, I was getting within 2 weeks, Then all of a sudden, phone goes nuts, out to a month now, then should be switching to Oaks, have about 25 lined up at this point, should take to mid Feb to complete, got to fill in thru March tho, then I will be happy!
However, would much rather be sitting on Carlsbad beach, enjoying the views!
