My neighbour about half a mile away got a Bunk of 8 ft hardwood dropped off for firwood. I could hear him gnawing away on it so went over. He had a brand new wild thing but did not get a file with it. They did sell him a spare chain. It was not especially dirty for skidded wood but for sure 1/2 an hour would have been tops without sharpening. Do they figure that if they told people how often they really shoud sharpen the saw it would scare them off and lose the sale. I am sure the average wild thing buyer does not have a good first time experience.

Frank that kind of sounds like a walmart type of sale, around here most wild things only need 2 chains cause that is about the average time for them to run, now i know some last forever but i have seen 2 in the last year that the owner came in from just buying one from Canadian tire and wonder why there saw quit, the rod broke on them, and the closest canadain tire is 60 miles away, then they want you to warranty the saw for them cause they live by you

I take it you don't port too many wild things. This fellow will learn ok and will graduate to something better.

I had a wild thing once, never did like it much with oregon chain, so I swapped over to carlton on it as I had with other saws before, it cut faster longer and better with the carlton chain than it ever would with oregon brand. The orgeon chain for me, I was at a friends house with that little pos saw, and I swear the chain was sharp as could possibly be and it only went through 2 3" trees still standing and clean as a whistle then the chain was dull. That was the day I bought a PM610 from that friend for $5 in non running condition with a 16" bar on it.

From that day on I stuck to carlton chain on every saw in my arsenal.

Yeah, me too, but I had to cut her loose!

rb-in-va;

I get a kick out of fellows who choose a woman (or a chain saw, to stay on topic) for the paint job. No thougt at all to what is inside the head or whether she will work well in the heat!

I looked into that once, there is a sprocket available in .325 for the 2375, its around $60 to convert the saw though. PM me for the email and I'll get it for you.
