I recently hired a kid to split wood for me and I was wondering how long it takes the average person to split a cord of wood? I have the wood all in a pile for him cut to 16" and the splitter as an approximate cycle time of 10 sec and has a single split wedge. I think that if a person goes at a good pace with averages size rounds, not all monsters it should take about 3 hrs just to split. That's what it takes me to split and throw in a pile.

How long dose it take you all? Please include your splitter cycle time.

There was a long thread about this a few weeks back.

Might be able to find it with the search?
