How many times per year do Maples drop their seeds?

How many times per year do Maples drop their seeds? Does it vary from species to species? I googled this, and surprisingly found nothing helpful...

Any info would be much appreciated!

Once.

Of the 4 major species around here:
Red and Silver drop in the spring
Sugar and Norway drop in the fall (probably should throw box elder in there too)

That is why you see multiple crops of maple seeds dropping - it is not multiple crops from one tree or one species.
