I work woith numbers all day and I still can't get it right. I guess the poll should read 6-10,11-19,20-29,30 and up, or something like that. Let's see, if we take the derivative....
For example, I have 4 Homelite 150's, and 3 of them (I think) run, but would you classify that as a working chain saw? They really don't work very good for many applications.
I've got a barn full of junk...old chain saws among it. I usually try to have 4 or 5 saws running at a time. Right now I have 4 running, modern saws.
This is not a good question to ask; since I am a chainsaw junkie. currently I have 11 ( one is a Stihl HT-75 ). All are sharp and ready to go at anytime.
I think you need to define working. Right now, at this moment, I have no running saws. All my runners have carbs that I need to get kits for. I have those three saws that need carb kits and four saws that need little bits of junk like fuel lines and springs. I'll have another once the Stihl 011avq arrives.
BTW: Just got the first sign of life out of my Jonsey 111S today. That thing sounds like a Harely at idle.
Dang, all these saw shapened and ready to go, that's what I'm talking about. Although it's been some time ago, I used to be a fair leathersmith. Would consider bartering some custom chainsaw holsters for saw parts. Currently I have 1 good saw and two dead saws, but I'm working on it.
Hi there, I think I only have about 13 working saws but never took a tally as inventory fluctuates at times. I honestly only need 2 or 3 though. Saws always represent negotiable funds.

right now probally 30 to 35 in the work force(i just sold a bunch off). my museum has a few(all but one run). last summer i made another scrap yard run(including some lawn mowers,8,500 lbs). i can remember having over 300 saws around. the oil smell would get real bad.
some saws come in and hit the road in a week, cheap.

right now i am over 90 saws and all but 10 run so i think i am on the right foot. but i guess i just have had good luck with getting those old saws running.

csw, I remember seeing a pic, about to do with favorite saws. You were standing next to some Dolmars if I remember. WRM's little feeble mind wants to know. (what other german saws do you have)? Also, while I've got you on the line...Dolmar 115 looks just like a Makita DCS5200i. Are parts inter changeable on these saws?
