how much for logs, and how to get in western new york

i want to get logs to cut and split myself, but just dont know where to get them, any help would be appreciated

not sure about there but around here you can get a trailer load of logs roughly 7-8 cords log length for around $700

That would depend on the length of pieces in the face cord, but typically 21-24.

How much wood is in a face cord? Personally I don't like that term for a measurment of wood, it means nothing. A cord is 4X4X8, or 128 cubic feet. If your wood is cut 24" it takes 2 eight foot rows four foot high to make a cord. If it's cut 16" it takes three rows, cut 12" it takes four rows. I agree you get 7 or 8 full cord out of a tractor trailer load of logs, Joe.
