I have a 056AV Mag II its brand new in the box (the box is in poor shape) has manual (dated 1993) and the tools.

The saw is in perfect shape and has never had gas in it.

I put a 3/8" 25" rollomatic bar on it w/ a 33rm84 chain.

Does anyone know what it might be worth?

Thank you for any replys

I've seen perfectly 100% restos on ebay go for like $700+. Never ran, no gas? Wow. That'd fetch a pretty penny on ebay. It's a superb saw, but parts are getting scarce for it, at least from a dealer for anything less than an arm and a leg. I'm glad I've got all the parts for my restoration, and I can stop hunting them down. The manual says '93? I didn't realize they were made that late....

Jeff's right, but my wallet is twitching and I'm starting to drool, so I'm going to say it's only worth $100, but, I'll give you $400 for it!

Send it to Tommy Fales. Get him to do his Magic. Then you would have a super sexy race saw.

I am building up a Magnum 056 from new spares - It didn't occur to me that anyone might have an unused one. I bet I will pay more in bits than you can sell yours for. I reckon you should use it and enjoy. If you don't use it for more than an hour or two at a time you shouldn't suffer too much.

I am a huge fan of the 045 and 056. They may be weighty but get that torque!

As to the value - check the price of a 90 plus cc saw now. Anything less than $600 must be a bargain, but whether on not you can sell for that is another story.

Good luck.

Big feller.

Big Feller- You may already know this, but as you build a saw from parts here and there, make sure the ignition on the 056 is compatible with itself. Lakeside informed me of the different configurations out there, with different flywheels, coils and so on, alot of it with the same part numbers. Just a thought, and you might look him up and ask specifics.

use it or sell it

I have an 036QS also and before I bought this 056 magnum II I wanted something more powerful but I cant decide weather to sell the 056 or use it?? I do not know if I could bring myself to put gas in possibly the only new 056 around, Ill ponder for awhile and tell yall what I decide to do....

thanx for all reply's

slimeballs......

$401.34....

pfffst

My first two new saws of my own were an 045 Super (smaller displacement, same chassis) and an Echo 302S climb saw, back in about 1979....

Had the 045 stolen long about 1985....grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

hmmm..

yea that looks ok on the outside... would prob bring more money with a bar-n-chain and a new kill switch

not new anymore

well I no longer have a new 056 magnum II because today I put gas in it (50 to 1) :) and oil and started it so I think I just cut the value in half but hearing it run was worth it ....

Ill officially break it in this weekend, thank you for all replies.

Good for you Joe. I'm kinda the same way with shotguns. There's alot of really nice guns sitting around out there not being shot because they're brand new in the box, and some sort of limited edition. Well, if it's a $20,000 gun or something like that, and you're a big time collector, OK, I can see it. But if it's some $3k DU dinner gun with a little bit of gold inlay, shoot the SOB!

The 056 does sound sweet doesn't it?

And is the "1911" in your name in reference to the venerable John Moses Browning creation?

Jeff

breaking it in

1911 is in reference to a pistol (cs compact size)

Yes the 056 does sound great it didn't want to rev up at first but after I set the high speed at 1 1/4 < and the low at 0< it ran great I cut a few 4 inch logs I had for a landscaping project and I think the saw was insulted by such tedious work but I have a 40" black oak in the back 36 acres in my sights though I think Ill put a second dog on it first...
