Hi all!I am milling with the Logosol Timber Jig. I just milled some 6' 23" wide by 5/4 and 8/4 slabs of cherry, there is some crotch sections in there. I have more than I can store and use so I'm open to selling some. In my area the last time I checked 4/4 common cherry was priced at $4.00 brd ft.
My stuff isnt kiln dried and its gonna move and check, I sealed the ends stickerd and have it in an airy shed. is $1.50 unreasonable? the other side of it is it's unique, wide and figured.$2.00?
I have seen white pine kiln dried for 1.25 and .50 cents green from the same company. Maybe I should be under a buck on this stuff?
Lots of factors involved in this so I wont hold anyone to it just trying to get a jumping off point.

1-1.50 is ok but i find if i'm selling on CL i just come up with a price. i tend to find the guys buying from there don't really know BD_FT measurements i just name a price per piece...and have done very well...i tend to do a lot of live edge slabs and this works well i just find that if i can make a lil money doing what i enjoy it's all worth it...very nice cherry by the way!!!

I think you should be in the 1.50+ for the thinner stuff to 2.00+ for the thicker. If i was buying cherry off the mill it would be 2.00bft.

I'd buy all that in a heart beat for 1.00 a bft. That's way to low.

You said it, a couple buks and the satisfaction of some one using local wood they wouldnt been able to other wise is pretty cool!
Thanks MHouse
I run a swing blade mill for a friend when work is slow, mostly white pine, and we go back and forth on what to sell it for. We are at .50c a bd ft now but it is so much nicer than what I see else ware.

Yea Betterbuilt I think so, it's unique stuff that the big mills arnt gonna mess with. One of those slabs came to 14.5 board ft, @ 2 buks 28$. seems worth more than 30$ to me.My thing is how much will it warp and crack, will it still look as valuable.Once its out of my hands its...well ..out of my hands so I guess I shouldnt worry about that, just nurse it along the best I can while I have it.

I would pay $2 for that

If you let me pick through it I would pay $2 for that. The crotch wood grain is amazing, might bring a lot more on ebay if you sell some thicker pieces of that, just a thought. I have sold a lot of "stuff" on ebay and can be hit or miss and shipping is a pain, but it gets you to a much bigger market. The only cherry crotch stuff on ebay right now is knife scales(small) for $8 just a thought.

here are some 32 inch wide 9 ft long elm slabs with crotch figure..i sold them 100 bucks each..so you can have fun and make money..this log was going to be ground up and wasted and now there kitchen tables and such
