May seem like the wrong category but it doesn't exactly fit anywhere.

Tree guy retiring.
Here is what he is offering:

1995 F250 Gas 4wd 130k beat up but mechanically sound needs tires
Stihl 056 MagII 24" bar probably mid eighties saw
Stihl 038av Probably early nineties

Old style climbing setup with spikes,20 year old saddle and rope

40' Ladder. Aluminium

I would say everything is functional but needs attention

I am thinking $2000

Well I have an old truck at the shop identical in year and make. It is a 1995 4wd F250 with a 351 and 156,000 miles. It is a back up truck if something is in the repair shop. $2,000.00 would be it on that. 056 is maybe $200.00, 038 maybe $250.00. I really would not put any value on the climbing gear being what it is. Ladder would junk $25.00. So I say $2,475.00

Recipe for disaster.

Thanks for the feedback. I realized after I posted, that the above list kind of sounds like a recipe for tree hacking disaster. But I am interested in doing some firewooding and chainsaw milling and was looking for some big saws and a truck.

i think the price is fare without looking, could even be a good deal if i had a look @ the stuff. the 4x4 is worth the 2gs if all is working and the body is clean. the saddle could pull in the most chedda .... liability claims can pull the big bling:jester:

Well here it is. Made the deal at $2100. Thanks for a fun thread and all the opinions. Now lets look at a picture of a truck and some old gear. Before I undercut all of you on your bids and try out my new ladder chainsawing skills.

I really dig that custom G EYE trailer hitch!

Not a bad deal in my opinion if the motor pulls and she's legal.

Looks like a pretty good score if the truck runs out good. Ladder, spikes and belt look good too and if those saws runs good, you really made out. That rope isn't good for anything besides tying the ladder or brush down though!

The truck looks nice, around here that alone would go for about 3k. That time of year everybody wants a 4x4 to put a plow on.

Didn't I just see that rig in my neighborhood at a job I just priced and thought I had ???:(

Just kidding, looks like a good deal. Lose the rope or use it for strictly pulling trunk logs over or as a tie down. 20 year old saddle is past due retirement. Spikes iron may be OK, straps don't last 20 years, but I don't trust gear that I do not know history of. Ladder is nice for cleaning gutters. Be careful.
