How nice of the EpiPen people to now force us to buy two pens for the price of--two!

Yeah, that's right, EpiPens are now only sold as a two-pack. This shows, so clearly, how Big Pharma plays the tune and we must dance. I just shelled out $273 for my new pens. Never mind that one would have been fine. Never mind that my last prescription was $85, in 2011, for one. I've never had an allergic reaction to hymenoptera stings, and I've been stung about ten times, but I figure the first time one does have a bad reaction, better to have an epipen around than not. Now I have two. If anyone wants one, pm me. I'll send it along, in a cold pack.

Yeah, the odds that you need both before they expire are pretty slim. If it was cheaper per pen to buy them 2 at a time, I'd be all over it. But it looks like 2 for the price of 3. Stickin it to us...

You may very well need both if you have a severe anaphylactic reaction and are an hour's time or more away from receiving definitive medical care (hospital, paramedics, doctor, etc).
Also, what is gonna happen to you if you bust the needle of your one and only Epipen accidentally on a seam in your Arborwear trousers (or whatever you are wearing at the time)? A thread on that exact situation was recently posted on the buzz, and perhaps Nick can post here how close he came to Meeting his Maker as a consequence.

Two is better than one.

Don't carry them in your pocket, get a belt holster custom made for them, that way if you should ever need to use them they are ready to go in working order.

The actual drug is dirt cheap, I guess the packaging and liability is where the cost sky rockets.

That is something if you need it and don't have it, yer F#$%$#

That's a really good point. I hadn't thought of it that way.
