How to check crank bearings?

My saw is apart for repair (piston & ring) - seems to be some play in connecting rod to crank bearings. I can tilt the rod slightly from side to side in the case. How much is OK? Saw is a Husky 50 I've cut about 2 cords/year with for last 15 years.

some side to side "tilt" is quite normal... hard to quantify when it's "too much" but most work fine...

I found the same in my 066, its normal.
