How to Reconnect CS-590 Oil Pump to Tank?

My buddy has an Echo CS-590 that is not oiling. He is pretty impulsive when doing repairs, and he says he yanked the oil tube while he was working on the saw. He thinks he pulled it loose from the tank, not the pump.

Question: can someone give us a general idea how to get to the connection between the tank and tube to reconnect it? Does he take the starter off or what?

Oil pump is usually routed on the clutch side behind the clutch.

He got advice somewhere, and he says he has to drain the oil, remove the tube and filter from inside the tank, shove the tube through a grommet or something inside the tank, and connect the filter to the tube.
