this wood has been split and stacked by one full time employee. a 2/3 of what we do goes to the dump. but we put down enough at the yard to keep him busy.

????!!!!!

Is that all the poor guy gets to do????

How many cords a year are you all selling?????

That's one hell of a pile...

Makes my back hurt just looking.
I dred splitting wood just to heat my home....about 4 cord a year.
The heat sure is comfy though.... :)

that much wood would go to waste around here! only ones getting wood here live outside of the gas pipeline, and are cashing in HEAP vouchers (read-no money :( )

What is wood going for down there now per cord? A friend of mine once helped somebody deliver a cord of cherry or hickory to a restaurant in Manhattan somewhere. It's gotta be at LEAST $500 a cord.

Have you thought of buying the poor bugger a firewood processor?

don't sneeze too close to that pile!! would hate to hear the poor guy had to stack it again!

DAMMN, that some wood. I wish I had that, I bet I could sell it all this year, I've had more people asking me than ever. I've already gotten rid of half a dozen cords, and have people wanting about 14 more. AND it's not cold yet. By the way, I'm now looking for places to cut around KC if anyone knows of any.
WoW!!

I left for the hurricane about 6-7 weeks ago with a pile at the shop about half that big. I got back home and i have about 2-3 cord left. Wife said the phone been ringing like crazy. Natural gas increase anticipated to hit a 46-53% increase from last year. So people a stocking up and using the old fireplaces.

We did some firewood yesterday, the hard way, cutting the bigger Oak logs we have into blocks or halves to be split.

We have had many calls for firewood this year too, but I have turned most of it away, just keeping my good regular customers, I haven't seen a big increase in wood prices in our area, just enough increase for the cost of fuel, that is it.

Too bad we can't get the hefty increase for the price of wood like the oil companies can for a gallon of gas or diesel.

Caution, I didn't resize these pics, they are kind of big.

I have two questions..
Is this "employee" documented, SS #-verifiable?
How much do you pay this employee?
