I like long walks on the beach, and, oops, wrong site. Sorry!

Let's start over. My family and I live on a 43-acre farm in the Boston Mountains just south of Edwards Junction, AR. About half of it is forest and butts up against national forest on three sides. I was running cattle but that's become more work and a hassle than it's worth. A few years ago 15 calves only brought me a little over $2,000. Things are improving but I'm tired of breaking even at best.

My apologies if this seems like a life story. But it all ties together to why I joined this group. I'm converting to Orchards Incorporated with a wild turkey and quail habitat transition. I'll be taking down somewhere in the neighborhood of a thousand trees including saplings. I hope to take advantage of any marketable wood for smoking, turning, and custom cuts I can. I'm here to pretty much learn everything I can from this group. I've done a lot of firewood cutting and some select logging. But I am far from a pro. Upon request, I'll be autographing this novel after this session ;). Thank you for your time.

Picture from the back deck for attention.
