im in needs of a husky 262 xp crank case also the dogs. id also like to know if any other models share the same case.

The 262, 266 268 and 272 I believe all share the same crankcase. Part # for the models made from 1993 on for the 266 crankcase are 501 68 52-63. thats the complete case, right and left halves, sorry, I cant find numbers for each individual half.

I've got a running Jonsered 670, generally a husky 266 with a different carb on it. if you want it Pm me.

so basically i need a 262 only for a donor saw. i dobt i can even get a new case and if i could it probably cost a ton.

I ran a search on ebay but could only find ones that have sold in the near past, looks like ones that are suppose to be in running condition are going in the $175 to $200 range. Heres one of them

The only family of saws that share parts with a Husky 262 is the 154 and 254 and they are seen less often than a 262. The 262 was an early Hot Rod type factory saw. It was a high reving saw, and that made good power. I think I may have a case, with crank, for a 262. I will dig around and please Email me for a picture if you are interested. Mike

the one i have is a 1997 model 262 xpg (heated) it has a crack in the case near the front av mount thats why i need a case. but i cant get it to run. it fires every time i pull it over but it wont run. im gonna heave it soon my patience is running thin

What do you know one just popped up on ebay, might be worth watching. 262xp

The current part # for that crankcase assm. is 501 86 00 04. I looked through our boneyard and didn't see any. If you decide to go new it's $140.20. When you're searching used, the same cases also fit 254's 1994-2001 / 257's 1994-2001 / 261's 1998-1999.

this saw is baffleing me, its gettin gas, its getting spark, itll fire momentarily every time you pull it over but wont run. i started the low jet 1 turn out, and as i lean it out the momentary firings get longer. since the opposite usually happend i figured id better seek advice.

i found a case/oiler,connecting rod and crank and dogs off of a 254 for $25 plus $11 shipping off a epay seller. deal or ripoff? same case?
