I purchased a used 266xp husky saw in the ad they said the clutch spring was broken but no pics of it I asked seller to send pics of the clutch so I know what parts to order my question is should i just get all the clutch parts including drum/sprocket and needle bearings? its says it has a 3/8 clutch on it im not sure if thats the chain size or what I would like to get a 20+ inch bar for it all i have ever ran is homeowner saws so any advice on what I should get for this saw would be great

I have a good friend out in Adams Co. OH who has owned a 266 ever since he paid his Husqvarna dealer for it many years ago. He has absolutely nothing to say about it except for it being the best saw he has ever owned. ;)

Excellent choice of saws. One of huskys best ever and still holds its own. Powerful and durable, maybe a touch heavier than some newer saws of the same power.

If you just take the fellow at face value, a new clutch would include just the mechanism that grabs the sprocket bell. On the other hand, who knows what the fellow really means... he may or may not mean be including the sprocket bell. This is the more common wear item.

I recommend that you just get the saw and see what it needs for yourself. Maybe you can live with a tired clutch for a spell but you'll have to replace the sprocket right away (there are two styles). We'll be glad to help you judge what's working acceptably and what needs to be replaced.

here is the listing from the seller
This is a used husqvarna 266xp.(no bar and chain, powerhead only) it has a 3/8 sprocket on it. it has the usual scuff marks but doesnt appear to have any broke parts. has good compression, but needs a clutch spring. when you pull the starter rope the chain moves also
