Question for everyone - I bought the Husky 28 Ton Splitter around a year and 1/2 ago at TSC. Probably split 20 face cords with it - the thing works awesome. Well - Consumers Energy is finally running natural gas to our area so I think my days of heating with firewood are coming to an end this year. Started doing some research to see a fair price for selling the splitter and my Central Boiler Classic 6048 and I no longer see the Husky 28 Ton splitter for sale anywhere. Guessing maybe TSC went to County Line because it looks almost identical but my Husky has the Honda motor and the County Line looks like it only comes with the Kohler. Anyone know if the Husky 28 Ton w/ Honda engine isn't available anymore? Also - what do you think is a fair price for my splitter? Thanks.

I have the Speeco 28 ton with the Honda Gx engine, it was a rental at home depot they sold it to me for 1100, pry has 100 hours or less on it. Great splitter got all the stickers removed.Picture 029.jpg This is it https://www.mtadistributors.com/family/571701

Where I am, that splitter (Husky), in good condition, would sell for $1,000-$1,100 in the spring or summer and $1,100-$1,300 in the fall or winter. The Honda engine, if it's a GX and not a GC is a big plus.
Good used splitters, at bargain prices aren't very common, at least around me.

Thanks for the replies - I checked my local area on Craigslist and you guys were spot on - in fact, I saw someone selling my exact splitter and asking $1200. My Honda engine is the GC not GX but I never had any problems at all. And 'm not so sure how much I'll miss heating with wood - it did keep me in shape all winter versus sitting on the couch waiting for Spring but I go through about 40 face cords a season. Even buying a lot of it already split is a heck of a lot of work just to haul and stack. Don't worry though - I'll never sell my 455 Rancher saw and I'll always enjoy cutting and burning wood - even if it's only for bonfires :)

I paid 750 for a used huskee 22 ton. Few years old.
1-1/2 year 28 ton I think you could get 11-1200
