guys I have an old husky 285cd , the flywheel center came loose in the flywheel, it cocked , and lunched out ingnition parts. dont know if its worth fixing, saw has no chain brake maybe wise to retire it. what are your thoughts.thanks-- frank

The big question for me would be how much life the saw has left if you did fix it?

Replacement parts are expensive, unless you can get some good used ones. I'd go to the used equipment forum and post a WANTED for the parts and see what comes up, and what you'd be looking at for $.

I won't get into the chain-brake issue, 'cept to say they're a good thing.

The chain brake is an easy one. All that you need is the side cover, with brake from a 285,2100,2101.
The ignition, flywheel parts are not the same on the 2100s.
Try rupedoggy, he may have what you need.
