Amoungst My Saws........Fool That Has Too Many!!!
I have a Husky 335 that was given to me. I have invested some money in it trying to get it right. The saw has an air leak. At first I thought it was the carb boot as this was a problem with the saw. I replaced the carb boot and the air leak still exists.

With the terrible history that this saw has I just don't if it is worth the time and more money. The saw runs strong when the air leak is sometimes relieved ( if that makes any sense ).

If this were an 020T this thread wouldn't be here.

Anyone want to trade???

I have heard a lot of people complain abut this saw, but oddly I seem to have lucked out with mine. It has always started right up and run pretty strong fo rme - knock on wood!:)

Likewise. Found one on E-bay, kinda beat up, but it takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.

Does anyone use the 338, I thought about getting one but Rich advised other-wise. I just wanted to know if the saw was better than the 335, because if it isn't I'll buy a MS 200.

There are a few good running 335/338's out there. This thread is proof of that. But, there are more bad 335/338's than good ones! You hardly ever hear of the 020T/MS200's having problems, so why chance it!

Buy the MS200!!!;)

Meanwhile, an 020 is stihl not worth the money, so I guess I'll stick with my Echo 3400. With some luck, I can get it to croak before this season is out.

Let Ron use it.:D

Give it to me!

Hey I think u should junk it un less u a.k.a. Gearhead can fix it. Throw it in the trash an ill be the garabe man the next morning.

338

The problem I ran into was the fit of the crank bearing in the case. The seals are built around the outside of the bearing, but the fit in the case was so poor I had to seal around that to get an airtight bottom end. No doubt this will loosen over time and then leak air. You ought to be able to change a crank seal without separating the case.
