I have a 335 that was given to me because it would not run properly. I have put a carb kit in and also found a small
crack it boot from carb to cylinder and replaced that. The saw will idle but when throttle opened it bogs down. Any suggestions> Thanks

it bogs

Take the limiter caps off and adjust the high side.Had the same problem with 362xp and it needed to be made more rich.Counter clockwise on the screw. It won't take much, try 1/4 turn.

Thanks for the tips. However, I have tried both suggestions with no improvement. To me it sounds like no increase in rpm at full throttle from idle and yet the engine does not die. It just gives the bbbooooooggg sound. Any more hints from you pros?

check to see if you have a fat spark.

then take carb back apart. make sure ALL passages are clear. do a visual, by using spray chemtool with a long nozzle.

put a pair of glasses on before doing this...

put noozle against each and every orfice, jet, passages, etc. make sure you see a jet of chemtool come out other side. if you don't see chemtool coming out, then passage is still blocked.

I've rebuilt hundreds of carbs by this method and it has never failed me.

follow madsen's site for card adj instructions...

you also need to do a pressure/vacum test against manifold.

At some point, you might want to just give it back to the guy. If you get it to run, it is very likely that it won't oil properly. The early ones were plagued with all sorts of problems. The only way to keep it oiled was to dunk it in a 5 gallon pail of oil before each cut. They are kind of tough to work on, which adds to the frustration level.

Not looking to shoot down the free saw, which we all like to get now and then, just saying don't drive yourself nuts with it.

I've got a muffler modded 335xpt that runs strong.
my 335 has zero problems, starts and runs great!

problem solved

I have finally determined the ignition module is defective. Swapped it out and I now have a one hand saw that runs perfectly.

Is'nt great when you get a free saw and then start making money with it.
The 335 is a strong saw. Jonsered is using it in there line up of saws so it will be around for awhile. without looking it up I think the model # is 2135.

The Jonsered is the 2135 T.

I think it is a variant of the newer 334 T, not the older 335 xpt.
