Sometimes it isnt about the quickest cut.

Lot of 346 stuff NLA anymore like their pushing us away to the newer.

Mainly want to feel the torque in the cut over a cut time honestly. Not in any races anymore. Wood dont care I dont care if a second or 2 slower.

The lighter weight of 501 is noticed.
No 50cc saw has alot of torque in the cut
You mean newer 50cc saw, yes? 😁
If anything the newer ones have more. Some of the old ones like the MS260/026 had very little. The 346XP even the OE was much better., but still not as good as a 550xp mk2.

So?

If you want torque you're probably not aiming for speed.

For falling, it's more speed than torque, especially for safety of more quickly severing the fibers.
The point of it all is to cut as efficiently as possible is it not? Or is it a flex to have a saw you can dog in with all your weight, but cuts slow enough to be timed with a sun dial?
Its also worth noting that guys misconstrue what torque is. They often will say a slower saw has more torque than a faster saw when that's not the case. A ms260 vs a 346xp is a prime example. People will swear up and down that the 260 has more torque. It does not and it's not close. It's just slower and has a choked up exhaust note because the porting design is terrible.

I have to disagree with you.

I buck.most of my personal firewood (2.5-3 cords per year) with a battery saw(540i) specifically to not use gasoline or spend the money on gasoline. I don't give two licks if it's 15+% slower. Even in 20" wood.

Back when those old homies and macs where being used in the woods a logger would chuck them in the trash if he had access to a modern saw. No matter if he were a faller or a firewood guy.

A couple thoughts. Your time must be worth less to you and an electric saw sounds pretty gay to me. But whatever floats your boat.

I said " what ever floats your boat".
But you won't convince me that being gay is manly and that's just nature and genetics at play.
You clearly have an agenda here, so I'll leave you to it.

You've proven yourself to be an a$shole time and time again. I'll add you to the list of people I don't want to see again.
