My son bought a Husky 357 a while back and we just recently got to put it to use. Not to happy!!!!!!! The saw could not keep the rpm's up in the cut....no power!!!!!! I tried to make an adjustment and unless I'm missing something the saw has a fixed high speed adjustment. I know there has been a lot of talk about the M260 and it's carb but I haven't read anything about the 357. Please help!!!!!!!!

Jeff, I assume that you are sure that it`s not just a limiter on his saw? Mine and all that I`ve seen are adjustable. FWIW, my 357 took easily 5 gallons through it before it came to life but your problem sounds a little different.

Hate to rub it in but I told you to buy from Commercial Cutters(just kidding). Let me know offline if you think I can help.

My 2001 has no limiters whatsoever, plastic or otherwise. I also
have never seen one with out a high speed screw.

Russ, never assume anything, I'm not much of a saw machanic just a chainsaw nimrod...I guess the high speed adjustment does have a limiter on it. It has little to no travel for adjustment. I assumed this was a fixed high speed adjustment, oh yeah you should never assume anything. The low speed has roughly about a half turn. Can they be removed?

take u time . i believe theres more info gonna come to light. i speak from experience. finally at my old age this donged on me. :) sometimes i remember to apply the lesson learned. of course if u got ason that can buy a 357 ,uprobably already know this. good luck

Hi Jeff, yes those limiters can be removed but I recommend that you just modify them instead. The screws within the limiter caps are tiny and a real PITA to get a driver on without the built up plastic of the limiters. A dremel or die grinder with a small diameter burr does a nice job of grinding the ears off which you will see if you look closely at the screws. A good sharp chisel or utility knife works pretty well also. With the limters defeated you can adjust to your hearts content and get the full potential out of this saw. Good luck in your endeavor.
