I'm thinking about buying a used 359 from my local dealer. Saw is in good shape w/20 inch bar, he's asking $350. Is this a fair price? Also it is not an E-Tech model. Did the pre- E-Tech models run better before the emission restriction. Thanks for any help you can give.

Saws I own: 044, MS250

Saws I used to own: 039,036pro, Husky 257

Sounds high, just over 400$ at baileys. But you do have shipping and tax.

It would have to be in like new condition or else for a little bit more money, buy a new one from Bailey's. Pay shipping but no sales tax.

Maybe if it was a Husky that said XP after the number, not for a non XP saw, too much jake for not enough jam.

Like tonka said, unless its near new and you know it has been taken care of thats a little high. Does the owner know what new ones can be had for? Maybe you can negotiate the price down.

Depending on how you plan to use it the fact that it's not an XP may be irrelevant. It's also a model that responds well to modification should you so choose.

$350 is way too high. What does this guy sell a new one for? List? What kind of warranty goes with it? I'd say keep shopping.

If you're only saving ~15%, why would you buy a used saw?

Also, what is this saw going to do for you that the 044 and 250 won't? Or is it a backup?

359 i got on the baileys xmzs it was 399.oo i put a 28" on er and it rips tell the guy 175 and go to 200 or go new. on used dealer saws, it went out got fubared and it went back in

The 359 cat muffler restricts the saw a lot, so if HP is what you want you may want to look at a muffler mod. Not an easy muffler to modify but well worth the gains.
