I am not at all familiar with Husky saws. Can anyone tell me what the difference is on the 372 Husky air filter cover. I see pictures of some that are not as tall as others. New model, old model? Can. or U.S.?

The lower cover is for the saws with the winter air filter(silk screen). The taller cover is for the bigger paper filters. Apparently you can not easily switch between the two filters.
My 372 here in Canada came with a winter filter which seems to let quite a bit of dust through
If your not cutting in deep snow I'd stick with the taller paper filtered 372.

The low cover, is either for the black 80 micron nylon filter or the yellow 30micron polyester felt filter. As ian says, the black is used in humid and/or cold environment - the yellow for dry dusty ones. The taller cover is for the high polyester filters for very dusty environments, such as clearing after a forest-fire, cutting by a beach, quarries and so on. These filters are not made of paper but polyester and should be cleaned using soap and water. There are special filters which use a main filter of paper and a secondary of foam but they are only used on the cutter-saws, cutting in stone etc...
