3 months ago I bought for 175 € (190 dollars) a hardly used (still original Husky chain on it , together with softbag) 2011 Husky 450 Xtorq.
Like some know here from new year till march I saw almost daily for clients , storm clean ups etc....
Just before buying the saw I sold my Stihl 029 super as to heavy and using my 372 xp with a 20 blade all the time or my 1970 Echo Cs 60 S. ( no love here for that old 029 super)
Now after 150 hours or more on the 450 , pfffffffffffffffff, great little saw , light (5.1 kg , only 200 grams more then the 550 Xp) power 2.4 kw (550 xp 2.8kw)
No vibrations with the 18 blade I have on it. Fuel consumption is awesome. Great saw.
BUT when I would have bought new , for only 110€ more (120 dollars) here in France you get the 550 xp ;)
So bottom line , when you can buy a 450 second hand go for it !!!!

ps . the quick chain adjuster is ok

Do you have any plans to modifiy anything about the 450?
Or is factory configuration satisfactory for your useage?
edit: i have a 2013 model

I think their product line up is great, having three alternatives within the most universal 50 cc saws. 550XP(G) for the top tier, 545 for the intermediate, and the 450 e-series with the quick chain adjuster. The same portfolio existed also before the Strato/X-TORQ® era, with the CS2150, CS2152 & CS2153, if talking Jonsered lingo.

Even the 45cc saws like the 345/CS2145 were greatly appreciated, but considering the power/weight performance, the 50cc seems to be the optimal product to choose, since hardly any weight difference between a 445 and a 450.

I use a 450 at home for all of my firewood cutting. I have used it for some pretty big stuff and it keeps going. I like it with an 18" bar. It will pull a 20" pretty well .
